I have heard about angels all of my life. I was taught as a child that I had a guardian angel to protect and watch over me. I learned about the Angels Gabriel and Michael and the stories in the Bible where angels acted as messengers and warriors. I have enjoyed learning more about angels as an adult by reading about the life of Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, Fatima, and other first hand accounts of angelic encounters.
If only all of us humans could lift the veil of this world and see the spiritual world and spiritual beings among us. How awesome would that be!
I was always taught that the angels are our spiritual helpers. At any time we can call upon them for guidance and help when we are in need; and they are obligated to oblige. I pray for my angel’s protection every day and the Prayer to St. Michael is on my heart several times during the day, especially when I feel my faith and beliefs are being trampled upon.
Hebrews 1:14 “What are the angels then? They are spirits who serve God and are sent by Him to help those who are to receive salvation.”
It is important to invite the angels and saints to pray with us. They really come when we invite them and join in our prayer.
“Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here: Ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.”
