My Guardian Dear

The Guardian Angel

The Guardian Angel (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

I have heard about angels all of my life.  I was taught as a child that I had a guardian angel to protect and watch over me.  I learned about the Angels Gabriel and Michael and the stories in the Bible where angels acted as messengers and warriors.  I have enjoyed learning more about angels as an adult by reading about the life of Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, Fatima, and other first hand accounts of angelic encounters.

If only all of us humans could lift the veil of this world and see the spiritual world and spiritual beings among us.  How awesome would that be!

I was always taught that the angels are our spiritual helpers.  At any time we can call upon them for guidance and help when we are in need; and they are obligated to oblige.  I pray for my angel’s protection every day and the Prayer to St. Michael is on my heart several times during the day, especially when I feel my faith and beliefs are being trampled upon.

Hebrews 1:14 What are the angels then? They are spirits who serve God and are sent by Him to help those who are to receive salvation.”

It is important to invite the angels and saints to pray with us.  They really come when we invite them and join in our prayer.

Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here: Ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.”

God is Love

imagejpeg_22.jpgA few months ago, my oldest son was staying with a friend overnight;  the friend was bringing my son to the airport to catch a flight in the morning.  My son’s friend grew up Catholic, but had recently confided to my son that he no longer believed in God.  My son and his friend stayed up long hours debating God’s existence and other church teachings.  After much debate, the friend was still not convinced.  On the way to the airport the next morning, my son pointed to the sky and told his friend look at the clouds.  There in the sky was a perfect pink heart!  My son immediately told his friend, “God is telling you, He loves you, even though you refuse to believe in Him.”

What must one do to prove one’s love?  Is it not enough to give up your only son to be tortured and murdered?  Even though man has turned against God from the very beginning over and over again, He still loves us and invites us to share in His Love and Mercy.

Corinthians 13:7 “Love never gives up, and its faith, hope and patience never fail. Love is eternal.”

Psalm 104:3 “You use the clouds as Your chariot and ride on the wings of the wind. You use the winds as Your messengers and flashes of lightning as Your servants.”

Exodus 33:9 “After Moses had gone in the pillar of cloud would come down and stay at the door of the Tent and the Lord would speak to Moses from the cloud.”

Celebrate God’s love for you today!  Let Him into your heart!

Little Lambs

675A0203Years ago I was viewing the evening news and was dumbfounded to hear a news report of the horrific epidemic of sheep abortions.  That was my ah ha moment.  The moment when I knew the world was upside down and turned inside out.  Where was the outcry for the millions unborn human babies lost to abortion?  Precious little innocent souls, created by God, destroyed by man, no voice, no future, no choice.

Most developed countries have laws that restrict pain and discomfort for animals. Yet, there is a huge battle right now in our own country to get the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act passed.  There is scientific evidence that the unborn can feel pain at 20 weeks. Why is there less concern over the pain of human beings than of laboratory rats?

Abortion at any stage is murder.  It is the termination of a life – a human life.  The Author of Life has a plan, a destiny, for each of His creations.  Man does not know the destiny of each child conceived.  I shudder to think of the great minds and souls that could have led this world to a much better place, but instead were the victims of “choice”.

Habakkuk 1:2 “O Lord, how long must I call for help before You listen, before You save us from violence?   Why do You make me see such trouble?  How can You stand to look on such wrongdoing? Destruction and violence are all around me, and there is fighting and quarreling everywhere.  The law is weak and useless, and justice is never done.  Evil people get the better of the righteous, and so justice is perverted. 2:1 The Lord’s Answer to Habakkuk: “Those who are evil will not survive, but those who are righteous will live because they are faithful to God.”

Corinthians 3:16 “Surely you know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you! God will destroy anyone who destroys God’s temple. For God’s temple is Holy and you yourselves are His temple.”

Children are a gift from God.  Let the life of God live in you!

Pray the rosary for the intercession of Our Lady of Guadalope for the passing of the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act and an end to legalized abortion.  Together we can make a difference.

Fourth Commandment

Message given to Nancy Fowler at Conyers, Ga on 2/22/91, by Jesus: “Let me teach you about the Fourth Commandment of God.  Honor your Father and Mother.  Your Father is God.  Honor Him First.  Your mother is My Mother, the Holy Mother of God; I give her to you as your Loving Mother.  You will never have a greater Father than God nor a greater mother than the Mother of God.  Earthly parents are called to imitate Us, to be Our hands, feet, heart.  You are not to judge the shortcomings of your father and mother.  And parents, you are not to judge the shortcomings of your children.  Both are called to love as We love you.  Grow more in love with God and with each other…:”

Message given to Nancy Fowler on 2/13/91 by our Blessed Mother: “I will give a message for the United States. My dear children of America, as your loving mother, I would like to teach you.  Live a life not of the flesh. Live a life of the soul.  Your flesh will return to ashes. The life of your soul is forever. Repent and come back to God. Your salvation depends upon this. “

Growing up, I had two wonderful parents that taught us four girls respect for God, the Blessed Mother, our parents and others.  I can remember being about four-years-old and getting tucked into bed at night by my mother.  I was the oldest and at the time had one baby sister.  Every night my mother would tuck me in bed and we would say good night prayers.  My first prayer was: “Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take.  God Bless mommy and daddy, Sherry, and Debra, and God let Sherry and Debra be good little girls. Amen. ”  We said these prayers so many times, I often found myself even as a teenager lying in bed at night praying that my sisters and I “be good little girls!”

So from a very young age, I was taught about God, my soul, heaven, and life and death.  That prayer is no longer taught to kids; or a watered down version is taught. It was believed that the prayer was too scary.  What’s wrong with children knowing the truth?  Life here does end and our soul’s future will be determined by God, Our Father.  Parents must teach their children respect.  If everyone on this planet had respect for each other – what a different world it would be!

Sirach 3: “Children, listen to me: I am your father. Do what I tell you and you will be safe, for the Lord has given fathers authority over their children and given children the obligation to obey their mothers.  If you respect your father, you can make up for our sins, and if you honor your mother, you are earning great wealth.  If you respect your father, one day your own children will make you happy; the Lord will hear your prayers.”

Our children are the future of our communities, churches, and world.  We as parents have a huge responsibility given to us by God to teach them the faith.  Do not water down your faith. For it is in knowing our limits and weaknesses that we can truly understand and appreciate God’s Gifts and God’s Mercy.

GOD SEES EVERYTHING!

20130406_123205I have three grown children.  My daughter is 28 and I have two sons, 26 and 21 years old.  When my youngest son was about 4 years old, he and I were playing the board game Candy Land.  (Board games were big in our family, we even had a family game night once a week).  My four-year-old was a very competitive person- even at that young age.  Toward the end of the game, my son noticed that if he picked the color blue card, he would win.  So, when it was his turn, he politely asked me to close my eyes.  While covering my eyes, I did peek and see my son fix the cards to the color blue.  He was caught!  I complained that he was cheating.  He then said, “Close your eyes again, I won’t cheat!”.  As his loving mother and knowing full well he would cheat again, I simply told him, “I will close my eyes, but God will know, GOD SEES EVERYTHING!”

My four-year-old then looked up at the ceiling.  He yelled out loudly, “GOD CLOSE YOUR EYES!”

Of course this is a very fond memory of mine.  It was cute, he was four.  What is sad is how many of us adults still think we can hide stuff from God.  We think we can bargain with Him, make excuses for Him, or even think we have fooled Him.  We are really fooling ourselves.

We are born of this world with a very weak human nature.  We must learn to follow our soul’s desire and follow God’s Will.  This will go against our bodily desires and against our human nature; however, it will lead to our life in the spiritual world with God in paradise!

Romans 8:3 “What the Law could not do, because human nature was weak, God did. He condemned sin in human nature by sending His own Son, who came with a nature like our sinful nature to do away with sin.  To be controlled by human nature results in death; to be controlled by the Spirit results in life and peace.”

Galatians 5:22 “But the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self control. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have put to death their human nature with all its passions and desires. The Spirit has given us life, He must control our lives.”

Jesus taught us to pray:

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name.  Thy Kingdom come, THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily Bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

As you go through your day, each and every day, remember “GOD SEES EVERYTHING”!

Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

20130525_115634My Daily Offering

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this day, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world.  I offer them for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart: the salvation of souls, reparation for sin, and the reunion of all Christians.  I offer them for the intentions of our bishops and of all Apostles of Prayer, and in particular for those recommended by our Holy Father this month. Amen.

The following message was given to Nancy Fowler of Conyers, Georgia,  by our Lord Jesus Christ: “I instituted the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass to remind you of My self-oblation upon Calvary. In it I continue the work which I began upon Calvary. In each Mass My body and blood are offered to My Father as an act of perfect adoration, thanksgiving, reparation, and petition for your needs. In each Mass, I represent you upon the altar. In each Mass I am still performing My Supreme act of love for you. Your devotedness to Me will be proved most perfectly when you have learned to join your daily life to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.  Attend as often as possible. You should offer yourself for love of Me in your daily occupations and activities. This will make your daily life a perfect oblation. You will seek to belong ever more perfectly to Me by practicing greater self control and mortification.”

Hebrews 7:24 “But Jesus lives on forever, and His work as priest does not pass on to someone else. And so He is able, now and always to save those who come to God through Him, because He lives forever to plead with God for them.”

Romans 12:1 “So then, my friends, because of God’s great mercy to us I appeal to you: Offer yourselves as a living sacrifice to God, dedicated to His service and pleasing to Him. This is the true worship that you should offer. Do not conform yourselves to the standards of this world, but let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind. Then you will be able to know the will of God – what is good and is pleasing to Him and is perfect.”

My thoughts: God’s plan is perfect, because God is Perfect Love.  The mass is the Calvary Holy Sacrifice relived again and again, so that we can partake and be apart of this Greatest Sacrifice and receive God’s Mercy. At each and every Mass a miracle occurs: the miracle of the Last Supper and the consecration of the Holy Eucharist.  The bread and wine become the BODY, BLOOD, SOUL AND DIVINITY OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.  The sacrifice Jesus made for our salvation has given us so many beautiful gifts.  How can anyone not attend the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and not feel overwhelmed with gratitude, love and humility?  Our God is an awesome God.

Cajun Catholic

20130725_122513Hello from Cajun country, southern Louisiana!

I feel very blessed to have grown up in an area of the country that is heavily populated with Catholics.  Driving down any street in Iberia Parish, (it’s Parishes in Louisiana, not Counties), one can see the evidence of our  faith. There are many homes with statues of Mary and Jesus proudly set in front of the home as a Blessing to the family and to all those who pass by.

Cajun people are very warm and loving of all God’s children and are extremely respectful of God and our Blessed Mother.

During this Year of Faith, it is with great excitement and timidity, that I embark on this sharing of my faith, beliefs, and spiritual journey.

I am proud of my faith. I ask the Holy Spirit to guide my words and thoughts and speak to my heart so that I can speak to your heart.
