to see the face of God

It is sad that we now live in a culture of death that seems to have permeated all aspects of daily life.  TV, movies, books, advertisements, etc., are all now throwing ghosts, vampires, and zombies in our faces daily.

While watching “Les Miserables”, I wondered if the “culture of death” entertainment industry, which raved over “Les Miserable”, saw it as part of the death culture.  After all there is death, killing, suffering, pain, and even ghosts.  If this would be the case, boy, did they miss the message!  Amid all the suffering and pain there lies hope, forgiveness, acts of kindness, and God.

It was truly a joy to watch a movie where prayer and adoration of Jesus were so prevalent.  That famous last line “To love another person is to see the face of God”, is the very message of Christ.

This message does not mean to love a person that already loves you…that is too easy.  It is the loving of our enemies, those who persecute us, those who make us suffer that is the message.  For Jean Valjean to truly be at peace, he had to forgive and love his persecutor.  That is the message that Christ preached and lived.  It is never enough to just love our friends and families.  We must make an effort to know and love the poor, the afflicted, the dying, the diseased, the innocent unborn….All of these have a God-given soul that is created in His image.  If we see only the outward appearance – we do not see the face of God.

Only we can change this culture, by not buying into these messages and not supporting the various TV shows, movies, books, etc that feature the message of death.  It is time to Stand Up for Life!  Be brave like Jean Valjean, live a life like Christ, by doing acts of kindness every day.

Tell your family and friends be apart of your movement.  LITTLE ACTS OF LOVE (LAOL).

Together, we can get out the messages of Christ.

Romans 11:33 How great are God’s riches! How deep are His wisdom and knowledge! Who can explain his decisions? Who can understand His ways? As the scripture says, “Who knows the mind of the Lord? Who is able to give Him advice? Who has ever given Him anything, so that He had to pay it back?” For all things were created by Him, and all things exist through Him and for Him. To God be the glory forever. Amen.

Heaven on Earth

20130703_125454My husband and I recently took a trip to Hanceville, Alabama, near Birmingham.  We wanted to see the temple accomplished by Mother Angelica; commanded by the Divine Child Jesus.  Words cannot describe its beauty.  The two mile ride to the temple where the Body of Christ is perpetually adored by the nuns is stunning and leads one to believe they are entering another world – a holy world.  Looking back over the years, I can remember similar feelings at other holy sites.  Our visits to Conyers, Georgia; Caritas, Birmingham;  and the shrine of Blessed Father Seelos and are few places where we felt peace and God’s presence.

These places are awesome and great reminders of the power of prayer.  But, as I sat in my own parish church yesterday, I became overwhelmed with the real presence of Our Lord.  I realized, if one truly believes that Jesus Christ is present in the Eucharist, then every time one steps into one’s  own church, especially during Eucharistic adoration, the soul should leap with joy and know that heaven is here on earth.

I encourage everyone to attend adoration.  I cannot describe how peaceful the experience, and how easy I find it for Jesus to speak to my heart.

Message to Nancy Fowler from Jesus, April 21, 1995.  “I am the center of this church, but I am not in the center of My children’s lives.  I am like an “ornament”.  My children come and see and they leave Me hanging there.  My children need to take Me into their hearts.  The doors of their hearts are often closed to Me.”

John 14:27  “Peace is what I leave with you, it is My Own peace that I give you.”

Let’s all make Jesus the center of our lives.  Let us all live a life to make our Lord and Savior proud.  Let us give ourselves over to His will.  Let us consecrate our families to Mary’s Immaculate Heart and to Jesus’ Sacred Heart.  Walk with Him and you will walk all of your days in peace and harmony.  It starts at home.

As the individual family lives, so lives the immediate community, the parish, the city, and state, the nation and the world.” Mother Angelica
